His main\ntask was overseeing quality assurance for a number of projects covering\nthe Adobe application suite, including AI integration in editing\nsoftware, as well as user accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>Last year was his final year at Adobe. After being laid off, he chose\na job far removed from his old profession: becoming a school bus driver.\n\u201cAfter more than a long and difficult year of job hunting, and\nexperiencing demoralisation and discrimination in the high-tech\nindustry, I am pleased to share that a new chapter of my life has\nbegun!\u201d he wrote in a post on his LinkedIn account.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that his salary is much lower than in his previous\njob. However, he finds being a school bus driver very enjoyable because\nthe children and his colleagues are very kind. In the post, James also\nmentioned Adobe. In his view, the treatment he received from his former\ncompany actually steered him towards a better future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo those at the company where I previously worked who ignored me,\nput me down, and ultimately fired me: thank you, but only for showing me\nthe way to a better future,\u201d he wrote. \u201cPeople like you are the reason I\nam happy to be driving a 40-foot bus rather than controlling a\ncomputer,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>James also conveyed a message to employers who had ignored his\napplications, urging them to treat job seekers better. \u201cTo the\nprospective employers and recruiters who filtered out my application,\nignored my direct questions, or did not even show up for interviews, I\nhope this industry can find a way to treat people better,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
