Africans nabbed for drug trafficking<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Three African men were arrested at Hotel Kristal
\non Jl. Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta on Saturday on suspicion of
\ndrug trafficking and counterfeiting.<\/p>\n
Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Matius Salempang said
\npolice seized several grams of putauw (low-grade heroin),
\ncounterfeit US dollars, chemicals and printing equipment from the
\nsuspects, identified as Petrus Simbada, Kenjeri and Kato Awami
\nAlain.<\/p>\n
"We are still investigating any connection between drug
\ntrafficking and dollar counterfeiting," Matius said.<\/p>\n
He said the suspects were nabbed following the arrest of a
\nfamily of five on Jl. Kampung Bali in Tanah Abang earlier on
\nSaturday on suspicion of selling putauw.<\/p>\n
He said the family admitted to having purchased the drugs from
\nthe three Africans.<\/p>\n
Police seized seven packets containing 0.5 grams of putauw
\neach and Rp 773,000 in cash from the family, he said. (jun)<\/p>",
