        "content": "<p>The Chairman of the Online Driver Association (ADO) in South Sumatra,\nAsrul, has expressed appreciation for the attention and support from the\nSouth Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Sandi\nNugroho, towards the online motorcycle taxi driver community in South\nSumatra. He described the police as partners of online drivers.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by Asrul during the inauguration of the ADO Presisi\nKedai located on Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Seberang Ulu I Subdistrict,\nPalembang City, on Tuesday (5\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Asrul emphasised that the police have maintained a very close\nrelationship with online drivers. According to him, the daily activities\nof ojol drivers on the roads make them inseparable from the police\u2019s\nrole in aspects of security, safety, and traffic order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe police have always been our partners. We are never disconnected\nfrom the police, especially on the roads. We are road workers who are\nhighly vulnerable to accidents,\u201d said Asrul to reporters on Wednesday\n(6\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He viewed the presence of the South Sumatra Police Chief at the\ninauguration of the ADO Presisi Kedai as a tangible form of the\nIndonesian National Police\u2019s concern for the online driver community.\nMoreover, the facility is not only a resting place but also a space for\ncommunication, education, aspirations, and strengthening synergy between\nthe police and the ojol community.<\/p>\n<p>Asrul also expressed gratitude for the cooperation built between the\nSouth Sumatra Regional Police and ADO South Sumatra. According to him,\nthis support provides new motivation for online drivers to continue\nplaying a positive role in society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you immensely for the cooperation built between the police and\nthe South Sumatra Online Driver Association,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Asrul also conveyed that online drivers are a\ncommunity group with an important role on the roads. Besides earning a\nliving, drivers can also serve as police partners in providing quick\ninformation on potential security and public order disturbances as well\nas field situations.<\/p>\n<p>In line with this, South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol\nSandi Nugroho described online motorcycle taxi drivers as strategic\npartners of the police in maintaining community security and order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFellow online motorcycle taxi drivers are strategic partners of the\npolice in taking anticipatory steps against various potential security\nand public order disturbances quickly and accurately. This spirit is an\ninseparable part of our joint commitment, Nyago Bumi Sriwijaya, Aman\nBae,\u201d emphasised the Police Chief.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration of the ADO Presisi Kedai also marks the\nstrengthening of 21 Kamtibmas Kedais spread across 17 police resort and\nmetropolitan police jurisdictions under the South Sumatra Regional\nPolice. The event was also attended online by police resorts under its\ncommand.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration carried the tagline \u2018Ngopi Presisi, Raso Palembang\u2019.\nThe ADO Presisi Kedai is equipped with various facilities, from\ncommunity gathering spaces, motorcycle workshops, vehicle steaming\nareas, police service stalls, to places of worship.<\/p>\n<p>Asrul affirmed that his side is ready to support police efforts in\nmaintaining security and public order, as well as encouraging all ADO\nmembers to remain orderly and cautious while working on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have instructed all members in Palembang City to always be careful\non the roads and always obey traffic rules,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the South Sumatra Police Chief hopes that the ADO Presisi\nKedai can become a productive collaboration space between the National\nPolice and the online driver community.
