        "content": "<p>Adi Andojo receives threat<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Deputy Chief Justice for General Crimes Adi<br>\nAndojo Soetjipto disclosed yesterday that he had received a call<br>\nthreatening him to call off his investigation into the alleged<br>\ncollusion at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>\"Somebody called me a few days ago and told me not get<br>\ninvolved in the Supreme Court's investigation over the<br>\ncollusion,\" Adi told reporters in his office yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"This person told me that he was a hired assassin,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said he knew the identity of the caller but would not<br>\ndivulge it to the press. Adi also said that the caller mentioned<br>\nthat he had been hired by a person allegedly involved in the<br>\ncollusion.<\/p>\n<p>Adi made headlines after the press leaked his letter to the<br>\nCentral Jakarta Prosecutor's Office asking that it file a review<br>\nagainst a Supreme Court's verdict on a document fraud case. He<br>\nalleged that a bribe of Rp 1.4 billion (US$ 600,000) was paid for<br>\nthe Court's acquittal of defendant Ram Gulumal of all charges.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged collusion is now being handled by the Supreme<br>\nCourt's internal investigation team, chaired by Deputy Chief<br>\nJustice for Military Tribunals Affairs Sarwata.<\/p>\n<p>Adi also expressed his anxiety over the team's sluggish<br>\nhandling of the case.<\/p>\n<p>\"I have not been summoned to testify. I am afraid that the<br>\ninvestigation will deviate from its original purpose: to uncover<br>\ncorruption,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Adi's allegation of collusion and bribery in the Supreme Court<br>\nhas sparked a controversy. A number of legal observers praised<br>\nhim and threw their weight behind him, while legal officials,<br>\nincluding his seniors, criticized him for not consulting them<br>\nbefore making the move.<\/p>\n<p>Djazuli Bachar, Ram's lawyer, has protested Adi's accusations<br>\nand declared his willingness to undergo investigation.
