Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has committed a\ntotal of $2.55 billion, equivalent to Rp42.96 trillion (exchange rate of\nRp16,848 per dollar), for various development programs in Indonesia\nthroughout 2025.<\/p>\n
ADB\u2019s Director for Indonesia, Bobur Alimov, stated in Jakarta on\nWednesday that $2.4 billion (Rp40.43 trillion) would be disbursed in the\nform of government-guaranteed loans.<\/p>\n
He explained that the funding would be used to support policy\nreforms, enhance trade activities, promote productivity through human\nresource development programs, including in the health and education\nsectors, and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe maintain close alignment with the government\u2019s vision, so it\u2019s\nmore than just financing; we also provide knowledge transfer, policy\nadvice, and long-term partnerships to achieve the Indonesia Gold 2045\nVision,\u201d said Bobur.<\/p>\n
He added that the ADB is also committing $150 million (Rp2.53\ntrillion) in non-government-guaranteed funding for the development of\nthe private sector.<\/p>\n
This year, he revealed that the ADB\u2019s current pipeline of funding for\nIndonesia has reached an indicative value of $2.7 billion (Rp45.49\ntrillion).<\/p>\n
This funding is intended to accelerate the deepening of the financial\nsector and policy reforms related to regional governance, water\nresilience, sustainable energy transition, and protection of marine\necosystems.<\/p>\n
Bobur conveyed that they will continue to be committed to supporting\nthe Indonesian Government in achieving national development targets and\ncontinuing the partnership that has been built since 1966 in the\ninfrastructure, agriculture, and human resource development sectors.<\/p>\n
He said that Indonesia is one of the founding members of the ADB and\nthe sixth-largest shareholder in the multilateral development bank.<\/p>\n
The partnership has continued to evolve over time, starting with a\nfocus on agricultural sector development in the 1970s, transportation\nand energy infrastructure development in the 1980s, and structural\nreforms in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
Currently, the ADB is focused on infrastructure development and\nimproving the competitiveness of human resources in Indonesia, in line\nwith the Asta Cita priorities and the ADB\u2019s Country Partnership Strategy\nfor Indonesia 2025\u20132029.<\/p>\n
To realize this commitment, Bobur said that they are not only\noffering financial assistance but also practical expertise, policy\nsupport, and long-term solutions to help Indonesia face increasingly\ncomplex challenges.<\/p>\n
