        "content": "<p>Activists seek to freeze Yogya LBH<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA (JP): A women group and activists from Bandung have<br>\nchallenged a proposal to freeze the activities of the Yogyakarta<br>\nchapter of Indonesian Legal Aid Institute (LBH).<\/p>\n<p>The proposal to freeze the activities of the local LBH was<br>\npushed last month by seven lawyers who founded the institute<br>\nfollowing a leadership rift.<\/p>\n<p>The nine-member Yogyakarta Women Advocates women group,<br>\ndismissed the proposal as an &quot;arrogant, unconstitutional and<br>\nunprofessional&quot; way of solving the problem.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The petition to liquidate the local LBH branch is an<br>\nemotional move and the signatories should have talked with the<br>\ninstitute&apos;s leaders in the first place,&quot; the group said in a<br>\nstatement.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the Bandung LBH activists said the founders&apos; demand<br>\nwas irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p>The founders want to freeze the Yogyakarta LBH for supporting<br>\nchanging the Jakarta-based Foundation of Indonesian Legal Aid<br>\nInstitute into a federation.
