        "content": "<p>Activists lose suit against police<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Four activists from the Agrarian Reform<br>\nConsortium (KPA) lost their lawsuit against the Jakarta Police at<br>\nthe South Jakarta District Court last week.<\/p>\n<p>At a pretrial hearing, judge Muchtar Ritonga dismissed the<br>\ncase on a technicality, saying that the plaintiffs had never been<br>\ndeclared suspects by the police to begin with.<\/p>\n<p>The four -- Anton Sulton, Idham Kurniawan, Mohamad Hafiz Azdam<br>\nand Usep Setiawan -- had filed a lawsuit against the police<br>\nsaying that they were forcibly removed while staging a hunger<br>\nstrike at the People's Consultative Assembly complex in August.<\/p>\n<p>They were demanding compensation of Rp 4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The four activists staged the hunger strike in August to draw<br>\nattention to various land conflicts in Indonesia.
