        "content": "<p>Activists claim intimidation<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Activists of Urban Poor Consortium, a non-<br>\ngovernmental organization, yesterday claimed they had been<br>\nintimidated by a police officer and unidentified men for helping<br>\npedicab drivers organize demonstrations to protest Sutiyoso's<br>\nban.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinator of the organization, Wardah Hafidz, told reporters<br>\nthat two activists, Alex Yusutardi and Edi Saidi were intimidated<br>\nby a security officer and unidentified people a day after they<br>\nhelped organize a protest by 150 becak drivers at City Hall last<br>\nweek.<\/p>\n<p>She said a police officer appeared at Alex's house in<br>\nPademangan, North Jakarta, and two unidentified men went to Edi's<br>\nhouse in Jelambar, West Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The activists were not at home and the men asked their<br>\nneighbors about the two's activities, she said.<\/p>\n<p>As of yesterday, the authorities have transported 1,330<br>\npedicabs back to their places of origin to beat the July 31<br>\ndeadline for all the three-wheeled vehicles to leave the capital.<br>\n(ind)<\/p>",
