Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong pleaded guilty on\nWednesday (02\/09) to charges of colluding with foreign parties.<\/p>\n
Wong, who has already served almost five years in prison on\nsubversion charges and is due for release next year, now faces a\npotential sentence of up to life imprisonment.<\/p>\n
Regarding the charges against Wong, he is accused of conspiring with\nfellow activist Nathan Law and other parties to solicit foreign nations,\ninstitutions, organisations, or individuals to impose sanctions or take\nother hostile actions against Hong Kong or China between July and\nNovember 2020.<\/p>\n
Wong sat in the dock as the indictment was read before confirming his\nguilty plea, according to reports from AFP journalists inside the\ncourtroom. He smiled and nodded after someone in the public gallery\nshouted, \u201cHang in there!\u201d<\/p>\n
