Acehnese have poor discipline<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Governor Syamsuddin Mahmud expressed concern
\nyesterday over the poor discipline of the local people as shown
\nby the many misdemeanor cases in the area.<\/p>\n
\"There are various violations of regulations, disobedience and
\ndisorderliness,\" he said yesterday while addressing a meeting of
\ngovernment officials,Antara news agency reported.<\/p>\n
He reminded the officials to help with the national campaign
\nfor better discipline which President Soeharto launched in May.<\/p>\n
Soeharto has called on the public to observe basic elements of
\ndiscipline, such as queuing, being punctual, observing traffic
\nsigns, disposing of litter properly and coming to work on time.<\/p>\n
Syamsuddin observed that many Acehnese jostle or jump the line
\nin places where they are supposed to queue and small traders open
\nbusinesses outside of the designated areas.<\/p>\n
Syamsuddin also criticized government officials for not using
