        "content": "<p>Acehnese disabled to receive training<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Association of Indonesian Disabled People (PPCI)<br>\nin cooperation with Handicap International will be giving<br>\ntraining to disabled people in tsunami-ravaged Aceh to help them<br>\nbecome financially independent citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Handicap International, a world organization dealing with<br>\nhandicapped people, was ready to contribute 175,000 Euro (some Rp<br>\n2 billion) in grants to carry out the training program.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The grant will not be disbursed in cash but will be in the<br>\nform of activities designed by PPCI and Handicap International,&quot;<br>\nPPCI chairman Siswadi told a ceremony at which the two<br>\norganizations signed an agreement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the training program was aimed at providing the<br>\ndisabled with various skills in such fields as trading,<br>\nhandicrafts, massage, sawing and others.<\/p>\n<p>PPCI would be discussing details of the program with its<br>\nforeign partner, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Siswadi said the Dec. 26 tsunami may double the number of the<br>\ndisabled people in Aceh from the original 25,000. --JP<\/p>",
