        "content": "<p>The East Aceh Regency government is developing Pulau Idaman, located\non the coast of Gampong Kuala Simpang Ulim, Simpang Ulim District, into\na premier tourist destination in the regency. Syahril, Head of the East\nAceh Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office, stated on Friday that the island\npossesses natural beauty with significant potential for development.\n\u201cPulau Idaman has great tourism potential. Its natural beauty is still\npristine, the environment is well-maintained, and it holds conservation\nvalue that must be preserved. This potential needs to be managed\nproperly to benefit the community without damaging its natural\nsustainability,\u201d he said. According to him, the island has a unique\nappeal not found in many other tourist areas. Besides offering a lush\nnatural panorama, the 18-hectare island also has conservation value as\nit serves as a habitat for sea turtles that come ashore to lay eggs\nduring certain seasons. He added that the island, situated not far from\nthe coast of Kuala Simpang Ulim, offers stretches of sand, shady trees,\na tranquil atmosphere, and fresh sea air. \u201cThese conditions make it a\nsuitable location for family tourism, recreation, and even environmental\neducation or conservation activities,\u201d Syahril said. Beyond nature\ntourism, Pulau Idaman is also known as a favourite spot for anglers.\nThis activity has provided additional income for the local community\nthrough boat rentals, sea transportation services, and the provision of\ntourist necessities. Syahril noted that the area\u2019s development had\npreviously faced obstacles after some facilities were damaged by coastal\nflooding. However, the community\u2019s spirit to revitalise tourism on Pulau\nIdaman has never waned. Syahril believes a community-based tourism\nconcept is the right model for Pulau Idaman, ensuring residents are not\njust spectators but key players in managing and developing the\ndestination. \u201cOur hope is that the community becomes a major part of\ntourism management. When tourism grows, the community also gains\neconomic benefits through transportation, culinary services, homestays,\nand other micro-enterprises,\u201d he said. Syahril is optimistic that Pulau\nIdaman has a great opportunity to become an icon of coastal tourism in\nEast Aceh if all parties can work together, from the government and\nvillage officials to the Panglima Laot and the community. With\nrelatively easy access, a well-preserved natural panorama, and the\ncommunity\u2019s commitment to environmental protection, Pulau Idaman\ndeserves to become a mainstay tourist destination for East Aceh in the\nfuture. \u201cPulau Idaman\u2019s potential is quite significant.
