The Aceh Regional Post of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and\nReconstruction Acceleration Task Force (PRR) Sumatra has announced that\nthe permanent construction of the Krueng Tingkeum Bridge in Kutablang,\nBireuen Regency, Aceh, was completed on schedule and has undergone\nfunctional testing today.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, thanks to perseverance and discipline, the Kutablang\nBridge has finally been completed on time,\u201d said the Head of the Aceh\nRegional Post of the PRR Task Force, Safrizal ZA, in Banda Aceh on\nSunday.<\/p>\n
Today, the bridge, constructed by the Ministry of Public Works (PU),\nunderwent its first open traffic trial conducted by elements of the\nministry alongside the Bireuen Regency Government. On Sunday, 20\nSeptember 2026, the bridge was officially opened to the public by the\nMinistry of Public Works, Safrizal added.<\/p>\n
Safrizal stated that the construction contract for the bridge\namounted to Rp107.5 billion, while the total budget allocation for\nemergency handling and infrastructure packages in the area is Rp251\nbillion. This budget covers a comprehensive range of works, including\nthe installation and periodic maintenance of Bailey bridges, the\nconstruction of the bridge\u2019s main structure using steel girders, the\nimplementation of the incremental launching technology method, and the\npouring of concrete parapet walls on both sides of the bridge.<\/p>\n
In the initial plan, the bridge was scheduled for completion by late\nJuly 2026. However, construction was temporarily halted due to the\ntransition from the emergency response phase to the reconstruction\nphase. A subsequent adjustment of work mechanisms took nearly one month\nbefore activities could resume.<\/p>\n
With the completion of the Kutablang Bridge, only one more bridge\nunder national authority remains ongoing: the permanent Teupin Mane\nbridge on the Bireuen-Takengon national route, which is expected to be\nfinished this coming December. Meanwhile, the steel truss Pante Lhong\nbridge, being built to connect the Peusangan and Siblah Krueng\ndistricts, falls under the authority of the Bireuen Regency but is also\nfunded by the central government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThree other steel truss bridges will also be constructed in 2027 by\nthe central government following proposals from the Bireuen Regency\nGovernment,\u201d Safrizal noted.<\/p>\n
