        "content": "<p>Aceh fishermen still in India<\/p>\n<p>BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Relatives of three Aceh fishermen who have<br>\nbeen stranded on the Andaman-Nikobar island in the Indian Ocean<br>\nfor a year are appealing to Governor Syamsuddin Mahmud to send<br>\nmoney to cover their airfares home.<\/p>\n<p>They each need Rp 7 million, Nurdinsyam, an uncle of one of<br>\nthe three fishermen, told Antara.<\/p>\n<p>The fishermen -- Darlin, Djauhari and Tarzan -- from Meulaboh<br>\nin West Aceh strayed in late 1995 and were arrested by the Indian<br>\nauthorities for illegal fishing. They have been held at the Port<br>\nBlair immigration office since.<\/p>\n<p>Nurdinsyam said they have completed their prison terms but<br>\ncould not leave because they did not have the money for their<br>\nairfares. The three were doing hard labor, but their income was<br>\nnot enough to pay for their return.<\/p>\n<p>They all longed to be reunited with their wives and children,<br>\nNurdinsyam said, quoting a letter from his nephew Djauhari.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Our families cannot raise that sum of money,&quot; he added.
