Aceh’s Academic Competency Test (TKA) for senior secondary pupils has proceeded without reported problems across the province, including in areas affected by November 2025 floods. The test was taken by 59,810 pupils, while the Education Office is working towards equipping every school with computers by 2027 and has instructed schools in disaster-prone areas to prepare safer test locations.

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – Aceh Education Office head Murthalamuddin said
the Academic Competency Test (TKA) for senior secondary schools had
proceeded smoothly across all regencies and cities, without disruption,
including in areas affected by floods in late November 2025.

“Thank God, according to reports we have received from senior
secondary schools across Aceh, it has gone smoothly and there have been
no problems so far,” Murthalamuddin said in Banda Aceh on Monday.

He made the statement while inspecting the test at State Senior High
School 12 Banda Aceh. Grade 12 pupils in Aceh are taking the TKA on the
same schedule as participants elsewhere in Indonesia.

He said the team had checked that all computers at participating
schools were connected to the central TKA server to ensure the test
could be held without problems or disruption.

“That means we confirmed last night that everything was connected, so
the children could take the test smoothly this morning without
disruption,” he said.

A total of 59,810 pupils in Aceh are taking the TKA: 59,036 are
sitting it at their own schools, while 774 are taking it at other
schools.

He added that the Aceh Education Office had also distributed computer
equipment to schools in Indonesia’s westernmost province to support the
test.

“Not all schools have enough computers yet, so some pupils still have
to take the test elsewhere. Our target is for every school to have
computers by 2027, to make examinations and teaching and learning
easier,” he said.

In response to heavy rainfall across Aceh, the Education Office has
also stepped up disaster preparedness by ensuring schools hold
examinations in safer places that are not at risk of flooding.

“We have told schools, particularly those in disaster-prone areas, to
act quickly and appropriately, for example by relocating the examination
venue or making adjustments if a disaster occurs,” he said.

He said the natural disasters affecting Aceh, a province with a
population of five million, had made its schools more alert to the
risks.
",
