        "content": "<p>Aceh conservation agency chief Ujang Wisnu Barata said the necropsy\nwas being conducted to determine the cause of death of the protected\nanimal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVeterinarians are conducting the necropsy in the field. We have not\nreceived the results, so we cannot determine the cause of death yet,\u201d he\nsaid here Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The agency received a report on Sunday (Aug.\u00a09) that a Sumatran\nelephant carcass had been found at PT MPLI\u2019s palm oil plantation in\nKaloy Village, Tamiang Hulu Subdistrict.<\/p>\n<p>A PT MPLI worker found the carcass at about noon and reported it to\npolice, that then informed the Aceh conservation agency, Ujang said.<\/p>\n<p>Following the report, agency officers, Aceh Tamiang police, Tamiang\nHulu police and company representatives inspected the site, conducted an\ninitial examination, and secured the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitial identification showed the dead elephant was male, with both\ntusks intact.
