        "content": "<p>Aceh autonomy promising: EU<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Following a two-day visit to Aceh province, delegates<br>\nof the European Union said on Thursday that the special autonomy<br>\nlaw for Aceh offered a great opportunity for development in the<br>\ntroubled province.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The European Union firmly believes that the enacted Special<br>\nNanggroe Aceh Darussalam Autonomy Law offers great opportunities,<br>\nand that it should be faithfully and swiftly implemented,&quot; the<br>\nBelgian Embassy said in a statement here.<\/p>\n<p>The statement was issued after representatives of the European<br>\nUnion and the European Commission visited the provincial capital<br>\nof Banda Aceh on Oct. 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also said that the Union and its member states<br>\nwere prepared to help Aceh in the development field with an<br>\nintegrated rehabilitation effort to assist in the implementation<br>\nof the autonomy law.<\/p>\n<p>It also said that they would offer support to strengthen civil<br>\nsociety and to pursue conflict prevention through peaceful<br>\ndialogue. -- JP<\/p>",
