Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chairman of Commission III in the House of
Representatives, has announced that he will not accept his salary as a
parliamentary member until the end of his term in 2029.

He made this statement after returning to active duty as an MP and
Commission III leader, following a six-month suspension stemming from
the August 2025 demonstrations.

“My gesture will be to hand over my salary as an MP to the Kitabisa
Foundation so it can be used properly to help those who need it,”
Sahroni said at the parliamentary complex on Tuesday, 10 March.

The NasDem Party politician admitted he does not know the exact
amount of his parliamentary salary. He is taking this step to counter
accusations that he has been receiving payment from public tax
revenue.

“Because people were saying that I was taking public money, receiving
money from taxes. The truth is we never even knew how much our salary
was,” said Sahroni.

By declining his parliamentary salary, Sahroni hopes the funds will
go to those with greater need. He chose the Kitabisa Foundation to
ensure the donation is publicly accountable.

“This shows that my intentions are genuine and that, as a businessman
myself, I want to do this,” he said.

Sahroni said he will soon communicate his intention to the House
secretariat. Subsequently, his monthly salary will be automatically
transferred to the Kitabisa Foundation account.

“The secretariat will send my salary to my personal account, and I
will request that an automatic transfer be set up directly to the
Kitabisa account,” he said.
",
