Accor to manage historic Phoenix<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The management contract for the historic Phoenix
\nYogyakarta hotel has been awarded to Accor, which will rebrand it
\nas the Mercure Phoenix Yogyakarta by the end of 2003 after an
\nextensive refurbishment program.<\/p>\n
The refurbishment starts on Aug. 18 and is scheduled to be
\ncompleted by November 2003. The hotel will be closed to all
\nguests during this time.<\/p>\n
According to a release made available to The Jakarta Post, the
\nhistoric hotel is set to reopen by the end of 2003 with upgraded
\nfacilities, while keeping the building's historic design.
\n It offers 143 rooms, including 18 standard rooms, 40 superior,
\n67 deluxe, eight executive rooms and 10 suites. There will also
\nbe a spa and fitness center, boutique shop, swimming pool and
\nKid's Club. The convention facilities consist of a ballroom
\ncatering for up to 600 persons and a small meeting room.<\/p>\n
This will be supported by Mercure Phoenix Yogyakarta's food
\nand beverages, which cater to both local and foreign palates. The
\nHeritage restaurant has a breezy, open-concept kitchen and
\nspecializes in grilled items and Asian fusion dishes. There are
\nalso two bars, the '1918' lounge bar overlooking an open-air
\ncourtyard, and trendy Y Bar featuring nightly live music. -- JP<\/p>",
