        "content": "<p>The post-disaster recovery process following hydrometeorological\nevents in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) is\nsteadily moving towards a more permanent phase. The government is now\nfocusing on accelerating the construction of permanent housing (huntap)\nas a key priority for long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction. The\nconstruction of huntap is a crucial part of efforts to restore housing\ncertainty for affected communities while ensuring the recovery process\nis sustainable. Through synergy coordinated by the Task Force for the\nAcceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) for the\nSumatra Post-Disaster, huntap construction is being expedited across\nvarious affected regions. According to Satgas PRR data as of mid-June\n2026, progress in huntap construction in the affected areas is evident.\nOut of a total plan for 39,217 huntap units in Aceh, North Sumatra, and\nWest Sumatra, 1,091 units are currently under construction and 406 units\nhave been completed. Aceh Province has the largest need for huntap,\nreaching 28,910 units. Of that number, 722 units are currently under\nconstruction and 157 have been completed. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra,\nout of a target of 7,483 units, 312 units are being built and 227 have\nbeen finished. In West Sumatra, construction of 57 huntap units is\nunderway out of a total requirement of 2,824 units. This progress is\nbeginning to be visible in several affected areas, including Pidie Jaya\nRegency. After the completion of temporary housing (huntara) and the\nutilisation of all available units, the local government is now focusing\non completing the huntap construction phase for communities affected by\nflooding. The Head of the Pidie Jaya Regional Disaster Management Agency\n(BPBD), Okta Handipa, stated that the verification and updating of data\nfor prospective huntap recipients is still ongoing to ensure\nconstruction aligns with the choices and needs of the community.\nAccording to Okta, some residents are still adjusting between the\nin-situ and communal huntap schemes, necessitating data validation\nbefore construction proceeds. \u201cHuntap data is being re-verified. The\ncommunity data actually already exists, but there are still residents\nwho wish to switch from the in-situ scheme to the centralised (communal)\none, or vice versa,\u201d Okta explained in a written statement on Sunday\n(14\/6\/2026). Okta added that the data finalisation process has been\ncompleted and the local government is currently preparing the latest\ndecree (SK) as the basis for submitting construction requests to the\nSatgas PRR. As part of the preparations, pilot huntap construction has\nbeen carried out in the districts of Meurah Dua, Meureudu, and Pantee\nRaja. These models serve as an initial step before larger-scale huntap\nconstruction is realised. The Satgas PRR also continues to oversee the\nacceleration of huntap construction together with all stakeholders to\nensure the rehabilitation and reconstruction process proceeds according\nto plan.<\/p>",
