ABRI captures separatist<\/p>\n
DILI, East Timor: The Armed Forces (ABRI) arrested last
\nThursday Geronimo Soares, a 31-year-old rebel, in Fatubolu
\nvillage in the Ermera regency, Antara reported yesterday.<\/p>\n
Local military chief Col. Mahidin Simbolon said that Geronimo,
\nalso known as \"Si Gondrong\" for his long hair, was member of the
\nSahen group of anti-integrationists who roam the forests of the
\nregency.<\/p>\n
\"They have become weak and they are always moving from place
\nto place, but we'll continue pursuing them,\" Simbolon said.<\/p>\n
He said all captured dissidents are eventually let go, but
\nonly after being provided with information about what Indonesia
\nstands for and how every citizen should defend the country.<\/p>\n
East Timor was integrated into Indonesia in 1976. The United
\nNations still recognizes Portugal as the administering power of
\nthe island. A number of anti-integration groups, including
\nFretilin, continue to resist Indonesian rule. (swe)<\/p>",
