There have been reports that some people claiming to be
\nemployees of state oil and gas company Pertamina have recently
\nvisited houses in Jakarta and West Java purportedly checking
\nliquefied petroleum gas tanks and asking for payment in return.
\nIn connection with this, we have to stress that Pertamina UPPDN
\nIII has never conducted house-to-house checks of LPG tanks.<\/p>\n
The quality of every LPG tank is checked by Pertamina. Before
\na tank is filled with LPG, it must first obtain certification
\nfrom the Ministry of Manpower's Directorate General of Fostering
\nof and Control over Occupational Health Norms. Therefore, we do
\nnot undertake house-to-house checks of customers' LPG tanks,
\neither free of charge or against payment.<\/p>\n
Please note that Pertamina markets tanks containing LPG only;
\nit does not market gas stoves or regulators. Gas stoves and
\nregulators are easily and freely obtainable on the market.<\/p>\n
Every LPG tank sold on the market comes complete with a rubber
\nseal. After a tank is filled with LPG, it is provided with a seal
\nas a safety device. Therefore, Pertamina recommends that only
\nproperly sealed LPG tanks should be purchased. All of us must pay
\nattention to this to avoid any uncalled for consequences.<\/p>\n
