        "content": "<p>Abolishing discrimination<\/p>\n<p>From Bisnis Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>A Jakarta-based daily reported that the director of public<br>\nadministration said that Indonesian citizenship certificates for<br>\nethnic Chinese (SBKRI) are not required in civil affairs.<\/p>\n<p>This may be true in regards routine activities, but when it<br>\ncomes to administrative processes for passports at immigration<br>\noffices, the SBKRI is certainly required -- along with birth<br>\ncertificates, name change documents (if any) and K1 cards that<br>\ncertify Jakarta residence.<\/p>\n<p>We have no idea how much longer this will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Legal consultants should explain which public institution<br>\nactually holds authority to abolish this law: the president,<br>\njustice minister, the Supreme Court or the House of<br>\nRepresentatives?<\/p>\n<p>In the United States, any discriminative treatment is liable<br>\nto legal action.
