        "content": "<p>The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Indonesian Life\nInsurance Association (AAJI), Albertus Wiroyo, stated that premium\nincome from sharia life insurance business units reached Rp4.41 trillion\nthroughout the first quarter of this year. This figure represents a 32.2\nper cent year-on-year decrease compared to the Rp6.51 trillion achieved\nduring the January-March 2025 period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the decline during this period, the sharia segment remains a\nvital part of efforts to expand access to financial protection that\nmeets the needs of the community,\u201d said Albertus Wiroyo during a press\nconference in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The association is committed to supporting the growth of the sharia\ninsurance industry through the spin-off of sharia insurance business\nunits, a process mandated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to\nbe completed no later than the end of December 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis indicates that the conventional segment remains the primary\nchannel for life insurance protection for the Indonesian people,\u201d\nAlbertus noted.<\/p>\n<p>Based on product type, he explained that traditional insurance\nproducts remain the main pillar of the life insurance industry\u2019s premium\nincome, contributing Rp30.10 trillion, although this achievement saw a\n2.9 per cent year-on-year decline. Conversely, unit-linked products, or\nInvestment-Linked Insurance Products (PAYDI), are seeing increased\ninterest, with growth of 4.1 per cent year-on-year to reach Rp17.17\ntrillion.<\/p>",
