A time to unwind at Tanjung Lesung's spa<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Feeling harried after a hectic working period is

The Martha Tilaar Spa had its soft opening on Dec. 10 and is
\nscheduled to be officially opened in early January.<\/p>\n
The spa, owned by one of the country's prominent beautician,
\nMartha Tilaar, is located within the Tanjung Lesung Resort, a new
\ntourist estate situated on Java's western tip.<\/p>\n
New resort<\/p>\n
The resort is being developed by the Banten West Java Tourism
\nDevelopment Corporation, which holds a concession to develop a
\n1,500-hectare plot at Tanjung Lesung as a new tourist
\ndestination. It invites major international travel and
\nhospitality industries to jointly develop the ambitious project.
\nTanjung Lesung is designated as an integrated tourist resort
\ncomprising hotels, residential area, marina, golf courses and
\nvarious other amenities.<\/p>\n
Tanjung Lesung claims it has the right location for tourists
\nin Banten. Banten itself is an area with a wide range of tourist
\nattractions, as well as being a popular site for factories and
\nindustries. The area is easily accessible by the Jakarta-Merak
\ntoll road, which includes the toll road linking Jakarta and
\nTangerang, the Ciujung toll road and the Serang toll road.<\/p>\n
Martha said that she decided to operate the new spa at Tanjung
\nLesung because she very much liked the area.<\/p>\n
\"It has a very good location. The beach is so clean and clear.
\nThe whole area itself is also calm. Such a situation is very
\nsupporting for a spa,\" she said.<\/p>\n
She said that the new spa offered a wide range of services,
\nincluding aromatherapy and breathing exercise.<\/p>\n
\"We use our own products,\" she said.<\/p>\n
She said that people could enjoy relaxing, healing and
\nbeautifying themselves at the spa.<\/p>\n
Rest and relax<\/p>\n
Relaxation at spas situated far from frantic big cities is
\nbelieved to provide a different impact compared to those located
\nin city centers. Recreation and relaxation is part of leisure.
\nSome people believe they can have this anywhere since the setting
\nhelps them get rid of daily worries and ease the mind from
\nstress. But most people think that taking the chance at spas
\nlocated outside big cities will provide a better impact, as there
\nis a different surrounding and even climate.<\/p>\n
\"We are collaborating with the hotels to attract visitors,\"
\nMartha said when asked about potential customers.<\/p>\n
Both tourists and executives are the major target market, she
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
An international hotel management company, Accor Asia-Pacific,
\nis now running the four-star Tanjung Lesung Resort Hotel in this
\nemerging tourist resort area. The hotel is always fully booked at
\nweekends.<\/p>\n
Banten is also known for various archeological remains from
\nthe Hindu and Islamic periods. These remains show how important
\nthe area was in the past. Banten, some 85 kilometers west of
\nJakarta, is predicted to be a thriving tourism region like Bali,
\nthe country's major tourist destination.<\/p>\n
About a three-hour drive from Jakarta, Banten currently offers
\na wide range of attractive destinations, such as the national
\npark areas of Ujung Kulon and Krakatau. Ujung Kulon has been a
\nprotected area since its designation as a national park during
\nthe Dutch rule in Java. Here, native flora and fauna, including
\nthe Javan rhinoceros, can be observed in virgin rain forest.<\/p>\n
The Krakatau volcano is a spectacular outlook. The
\nbreathtaking marvel of Anak Rakata island, the \"offspring\" of
\nKrakatau, is an active young volcano and clearly visible.<\/p>\n
The Baduy community in Banten is another appeal. The Baduy are
\nan utterly unique, indigenous and private community. The Banten
\narea is also known for debus (traditional dance) by religious
\nascetics known as nayaga, men who can control their fear and
