A novel solution for aging skin<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A young and healthy look is the main standard of
\nbeauty. Many health and beauty products promote ways to maintain
\nshape and look. One of the biggest concerns for many people,
\nespecially women, is wrinkled and sagging skin. This problem is
\ncaused by oxidation, dry air, and exposure to ultra-violet rays,
\nwhich, unfortunately, no one can avoid.<\/p>\n
As the skin ages, the skin turnover -- the rate at which skin
\ncells move up from the basal layer to the horny layer -- becomes
\nirregular. This irregular turnover can cause incomplete
\nkeratinization which can accelerate the aging process and roughen
\nhe skin.<\/p>\n
To slow the process, Shiseido has introduced Shiseido
\nBenefiance.<\/p>\n
Shiseido's laboratories found that enzymes play a vital role
\nin controlling turnover rate. However, if turnover is disrupted
\nby environmental factors, or by excessive exfoliation, plasmin
\nbecomes overactivated and disperses into the upper layers of the
\nepidermis. This dispersed plasmin then affects the functioning of
\nepidermal cells, accelerating their turnover. As a result, cells
\nlacking in moisture and nutrients are produced, eventually
\nleading to roughening in the horny layer.<\/p>\n
The finding led Shiseido's to produce TRA Revitalizer, an
\ningredient which can inhibit the overreaction of plasmin.
\nThis product is able to control the cell turnover rate by
\nnormalizing plasmin enzyme activity, preventing incomplete
\nkeratinization, decelerating the aging process, and improving
\nskin texture.<\/p>\n
The new ingredient, which is allergy-tested and is designed
\nespecially for mature skin, is formulated for two different types
\nof skin -- normal to dry skin and dry to very dry skin.<\/p>\n
Shiseido Benefiance, which contains TRA Revitalizer, consists
\nof three basic skin care steps -- cleansing, balancing, and
\nmoisturizing -- and additional firming and lifting skin care
\nproducts.<\/p>\n
For the three basic skin care steps, there are two kinds of
\ncleanser available, Creamy Cleansing Foam, a rinse-off type of
\ncleanser, and Creamy Cleansing Emulsion. Both of them can be used
\nfor normal, dry or very-dry skin.<\/p>\n
People with normal or dry skin are offered Balancing Softener
\nto restore stability to the skin after cleansing. Daytime
\nProtective Emulsion moisturizes and protects skin from UV-rays,
\nand Revitalizing Emulsion is a nighttime moisturizer.<\/p>\n
For those with dry or very-dry skin, Enriched Balancing
\nSoftener is recommended. Daytime Protective Cream and
\nRevitalizing Cream are available as the moisturizer with the same
\nproperties as the emulsion except that they have richer
\nformulation.<\/p>\n
Since the area around the eyes is more sensitive and prone to
\nwrinkle, Shiseido Benefiance provides Revitalizing Eye Cream
\nwhich is a highly penetrating moisturizing cream. This treatment
\nis designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines around the
\neyes without heaviness or stickiness.<\/p>\n
As an additional treatment, there is the Firming Massage Mask,
\nwhich is a three-minute massage treatment that can be done once
\nor twice a week to get a firming benefit. The other additional
\nskin care product is the lifting treatment which is provided by
\nEnergizing Essence. This product can be used as a regular or
\noccasional treatment.<\/p>\n
