        "content": "<p>Jakarta - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming visited the dock\ndevelopment and production facilities of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero)\nTbk (SIG) in Tuban Regency, East Java. The project, managed by SIG\u2019s\nsubsidiary PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, will become a high-capacity\ncement export facility adopting the latest modern technology to support\nefficient and sustainable export operations. The project has progressed\nto 99% and the Vice President urged the company to maintain and even\nimprove environmental management standards and compliance. He expressed\nhope that the facility would soon operate and support the nation\u2019s\ncapabilities on the global stage and the sustainable development agenda,\nnot only in Indonesia but also abroad. He inspected the dock features\nprojected to be able to ship 500,000 to 1 million tonnes of cement to\ninternational markets. The dock and production facility development is\npart of a strategic collaboration between SIG through its subsidiary SBI\nand Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, established since 2021. Investment\nValue: With an investment of Rp1.4 trillion, the project includes\nseveral developments of dock facilities and a factory. One of them is\nincreasing the capacity of the Special Terminal from 15,000 Deadweight\nTonnage (DWT) to 50,000 DWT. This capacity increase is achieved by\nbuilding a new jetty trestle and a jetty platform connected to the\nexisting jetty. To support production, the project also includes a\nblending silo system with a capacity of 8,000 tonnes, a clinker silo\nsystem with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes, and two cement silo systems\neach with a capacity of 18,000 tonnes. The project also involves the\ninstallation of transport facilities including a 4.1 km tube conveyor, a\ntripper conveyor, and a ship loader with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per\nhour (tph) to convey bulk cement from the plant to ships berthed at the\ndock. Completion is expected by mid-2026. SIG\u2019s President Director\nIndrieffouny Indra said the project is expected to be completed soon and\nready to operate optimally by mid-2026. The project, a synergy with\nHutama Karya, is projected to be able to ship 450,000 tonnes of cement\nthis year, rising to a full capacity of 1 million tonnes per year. \u201cThis\nproject will be a milestone not only in strengthening distribution\ncapacity but also in contributing to the competitiveness of the export\nmarket and strengthening the group\u2019s global distribution network amid\nincreasingly competitive domestic market conditions and the overcapacity\nfaced by the domestic cement industry.
