        "content": "<p>A unique mosque newly built in Kampung Pamoyanan RT 01\/13, Padaasih\nVillage, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, is preparing\nto welcome the holy month of Ramadhan.<\/p>\n<p>The Jami\u2019 An-Nur Mosque, popularly known as the \u201cRed Beret Mosque,\u201d\nwas officially inaugurated by TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto on\nMonday, 19 January 2026. The inauguration was a solemn yet warm\noccasion, with residents filling the mosque grounds and surrounding\nareas to witness the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>The mosque\u2019s dome is designed to resemble the Red Beret of Kopassus\nbearing four stars, symbolising the courage, dedication and loyalty of\nTNI soldiers in their service to the nation, whilst simultaneously\nrepresenting Islamic values as the foundation for building a community\nof faith and piety.<\/p>\n<p>The mosque is now preparing to welcome Ramadhan 1447 Hijriah\/2026 CE,\nwith its inaugural tarawih prayers held on Wednesday evening, 18\nFebruary 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Local community leader Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Suroso said this\nyear\u2019s Ramadhan marks a special moment. \u201cIndeed, this is the inaugural\nRamadhan for Jami\u2019 An-Nur Mosque following its completion and\ninauguration by the TNI Commander,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The mosque\u2019s story began with an old building that could only\naccommodate 60 worshippers. Initially, Suroso had only intended to carry\nout simple renovations, but plans changed after he communicated with\nGeneral Agus Subiyanto. The TNI Commander then decided to completely\nrebuild the mosque from scratch, with construction commencing on 13 June\n2025. The mosque, which originally occupied a plot of just five tumbak,\nnow stands grandly on 15 tumbak of land with a resin dome weighing three\ntonnes.<\/p>\n<p>The mosque\u2019s unique beret-shaped dome design has become a subject of\nwidespread discussion among netizens. The majority of online\ncommentators have expressed puzzlement over why a place of worship was\ngiven a military aesthetic, with some arguing that the designers did not\nfully grasp the concept of a house of worship.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Red Beret Dome Mosque, General Agus previously\ninaugurated a Four-Star Green Beret Dome Mosque in Pangandaran, West\nJava, on 1 March 2025, featuring a green beret dome with the Kostrad\nlogo.<\/p>",
