        "content": "<p>851 migrants leave for their hometowns<\/p>\n<p>The city administration has sent a total of 851 illegal<br>\nmigrants, many of them worked as prostitutes and squatters, to<br>\ntheir hometowns in West, Central and East Java in the last two<br>\nmonths.<\/p>\n<p>Roekanda, the head of the City Social Affairs Office, said<br>\nyesterday that most of the migrants were apprehended during the<br>\nroutine operations targeting prostitutes operating in the city&apos;s<br>\nroadsides and sidewalks in June and July.<\/p>\n<p>The city administration, Roekanda said, will continue the<br>\noperation until the unauthorized red-light districts, such as<br>\nthose of Boker in East Jakarta and Pulo Bunder in North Jakarta,<br>\nare cleared of prostitutes.<\/p>\n<p>Roekanda said recently that Jakarta had shown an increase in<br>\nthe number of seasonal migrants from Java, especially the coastal<br>\nareas in the north, during the current drought season.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the migrants, apparently buoyed by optimism of finding<br>\nof better life in the city, became beggars, squatters and<br>\nprostitutes after facing difficulties in finding permanent jobs.<br>\n(yns)<\/p>",
