The Wini Cross-Border Post (PLBN Wini) served as the location for the\n81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia\nceremony on Monday (17\/8). The ceremony in the border area affirmed the\nrole of PLBN Wini as the foremost part of the Unitary State of the\nRepublic of Indonesia (NKRI). This area also serves as a space for\ncommunity activities that require support through public services,\ndevelopment, and economic strengthening.<\/p>\n
At the event, the Special Staff for Strategic Issues to the\nCoordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and\nCorrections, Karjono Atmoharsono, acted as the Ceremony Inspector.\nMeanwhile, Second Lieutenant Arh Farius Septia Gandy served as the\nCeremony Commander. Karjono wore a buna woven cloth with a distinctive\nmotif of the Insana community. The use of traditional attire was part of\nhonouring the identity and cultural richness of the local community in\nthe independence commemoration in the border area.<\/p>\n
He conveyed that the independence commemoration in the border area\nholds strategic meaning because border regions are the foremost part of\nIndonesia. Karjono emphasised that sovereignty is not only realised\nthrough the ability to safeguard territory, but also through the state\u2019s\npresence in providing services, supplying infrastructure, developing the\neconomy, protecting the community, and improving welfare. \u201cThe border is\nnot merely a dividing line, but a living space for the community as well\nas an important part of the integrity of the Unitary State of the\nRepublic of Indonesia,\u201d said Karjono in his statement on Tuesday\n(18\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
This was conveyed while reading the mandate of the Minister of Home\nAffairs and Chair of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the\nRepublic of Indonesia, Muhammad Tito Karnavian. In his mandate, the BNPP\nChair also emphasised the importance of strengthening the function of\nPLBN as a state gate. In this regard, PLBN not only plays a role in\ninspecting the movement of people and goods, but also needs to be\ncontinuously strengthened as part of efforts to maintain sovereignty,\nimprove service quality, facilitate trade and logistics, and open market\naccess for community products in border areas.<\/p>\n
In line with the theme of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian\nIndependence, \u201cSovereign, Just and Prosperous Indonesia\u201d, border area\ndevelopment is directed towards strengthening sovereignty, improving\ngovernance and public service quality, and promoting community welfare\nand competitiveness.<\/p>\n
The Independence Day ceremony at PLBN Wini was attended by the Head\nof the Legal, Organisation, and Personnel Bureau of BNPP RI, and was\nfollowed by elements of the state civil apparatus (ASN), the Indonesian\nNational Armed Forces and Police, village officials, the community, and\nstudents from elementary to high school levels. The involvement of\nvarious elements reflects the participation of border communities in\ncommemorating independence day while strengthening the national\nspirit.<\/p>\n
The ceremony also involved 10 members of the Flag Raising Troop\n(Paskibraka) in hoisting the Red and White flag. They came from SMA\nNegeri Oekolo, along with a choir group from SMPN Manufonu. On the same\noccasion, the Satyalancana Karya Satya Honour was awarded to three civil\nservants within the BNPP RI. The awards were given to Agustino\nRomeyandus Manehat, S.STP., Fredirikus Yafet Kope, S.STP., and Yosef\nAdrianus Usfahik, S.STP., as a form of appreciation for their dedication\nand loyalty in carrying out duties as state apparatus.
