        "content": "<p>Several major rivers in Pasuruan Regency, East Java, overflowed\nfollowing heavy rainfall, causing flooding in seven villages across four\nsub-districts.<\/p>\n<p>As reported on Monday (23\/2\/2026), flooding struck Bandaran Village,\nWinongan Kidul Village, and Prodo Village in Winongan sub-district.\nWater levels reached between 20 and 35 centimetres, affecting 208\nhouseholds.<\/p>\n<p>Flooding also hit Sidogiri Village in Kraton sub-district, where\nwater levels reached 30 to 50 centimetres. In Kedawungkulon Village,\nGrati sub-district, floodwaters were 30 centimetres deep, affecting 228\nhouseholds.<\/p>\n<p>The most severe flooding occurred in Bangil sub-district. In Tambakan\nVillage, floodwaters reached 70 centimetres, impacting 188 households.\nIn Kalianyar urban village, water levels reached 50 to 75 centimetres,\naffecting 976 households.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince this afternoon, the public kitchen at the Kalirejo urban\nvillage shelter in Bangil sub-district has been activated. Kalirejo was\npreviously flooded but the waters have since receded,\u201d said Sugeng\nHariyadi, Head of the Pasuruan Regency Regional Disaster Management\nAgency (BPBD), on Monday evening (23\/2).<\/p>\n<p>The flooding in Winongan and Grati sub-districts was caused by the\nRejoso River overflowing, whilst the flooding in Kraton was due to the\nWelang River bursting its banks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe flooding in Bangil was caused by the Kedunglarangan River\noverflowing,\u201d Sugeng explained.<\/p>",
