        "content": "<p>President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has\ninstructed a comprehensive investigation into the fatal collision\nbetween the long-distance Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL Commuter\nLine in East Bekasi, which killed seven people on Monday\n(27\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we are all saddened and shocked by the accident that has\noccurred. I extend my condolences on a personal level and on behalf of\nthe government. And we will immediately conduct an investigation into\nwhat happened,\u201d said Prabowo after visiting the victims being treated at\nBekasi City Hospital, West Java, on Tuesday (28\/4\/2026) morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the level crossing area, which is unguarded and\nlacks proper safety facilities, needs to be investigated and evaluated\nimmediately.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated that he has approved the construction of a flyover in\nthe area, with the budget prepared directly by the central government to\nprevent similar incidents.<\/p>\n<p>From his visit, Prabowo noted that medical services are running\noptimally and are currently treating 54 injured victims at Bekasi City\nHospital.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo also assured that the accident victims will receive\ncompensation and reimbursement for the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He further mentioned that rail transport remains one of the mainstays\nof public mobility at present.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, evaluation of the safety of level crossings and the\nconstruction of the flyover must be carried out immediately to ensure\nsafety.<\/p>\n<p>Previously reported, the collision occurred between the\nCikarang-bound KRL train number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek\non the Gambir\u2013Surabaya Pasar Turi route around 20:52 WIB on Monday\nnight.<\/p>\n<p>The incident site was at the platform of East Bekasi Station KM\n28+920.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the incident, seven KRL passengers died, and 81 others\nwere injured.<\/p>\n<p>The victims have been evacuated to several health facilities,\nincluding Bekasi City Hospital, RS Bella Bekasi, RS Primaya, RS Mitra\nPlumbon Cibitung, RS Bakti Kartini, RS Siloam East Bekasi, RS Hermina,\nas well as RS Mitra Keluarga East and West Bekasi.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 240 passengers on the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported\nsafe.<\/p>",
