The \u2018Dharma Dewata\u2019 patrol has been intensified by the Bali\nImmigration Office to target various violations committed by foreign\nnationals. During a single week, the Bali Regional Office of the\nDirectorate General of Immigration apprehended 66 foreign nationals from\n27 countries suspected of immigration offences. The enforcement action\nwas the result of the ongoing Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol conducted\nacross the working areas of the Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Singaraja,\nKlungkung, and Tabanan immigration offices.<\/p>\n
Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of\nImmigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, explained that the intensified\npatrols are a response to the rising number of violations by foreigners.\nThe Dharma Dewata Task Force is not only tightening surveillance but\nalso providing a quick response to potential public order disturbances\nto reduce the rate of offences by foreign nationals. This aims to\nenhance the sense of security within the community and ensure Bali\nremains safe and conducive for both residents and international\ntourists.<\/p>\n
During the operation, the task force uncovered various modus operandi\nand types of legal violations. These were dominated by 24 cases of\nmisuse of residence permits, 20 cases of overstaying, and 22 cases of\ndisturbing public security and order. Throughout the operation, officers\nutilised an integrated digital data system for efficient document\nvalidation and visited business operators and accommodation managers to\neducate them on their reporting obligations through the Foreigner\nReporting Application (APOA).<\/p>\n
Felucia Sengky Ratna stressed that the patrols demonstrate the\nImmigration office\u2019s consistency in maintaining regional security.\n\u2018Digital-based surveillance has proven effective in detecting potential\nviolations more quickly and accurately, thus limiting the space for\nforeigners who intend to break the rules,\u2019 she stated. Regarding\nenforcement procedures, she instructed all field personnel to maintain\nintegrity and professionalism. \u2018In every operation, I emphasise that all\npersonnel must work professionally and avoid abuse of authority,\nconducting surveillance humanely but firmly and measurably in accordance\nwith the applicable legal corridor,\u2019 she asserted.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Felucia urged the public to participate in surveillance\nby reporting any indications of violations by foreign nationals through\nofficial channels.
