64 exporters to join overseas exhibitions<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A total of 64 Indonesian exporters will
\nparticipate in the Bologna International Trade Fair in Italy,
\nUnitrex '96 in Rotterdam and the International Houseware Show in
\nTokyo this month.<\/p>\n
The National Agency for Export Development said in a statement
\nyesterday that Indonesia is honored as a \"guest country\" at the
\nBologna fair, which will run from June 7 through June 16.<\/p>\n
Forty six Indonesian exporters will occupy 1,000 square meters
\nto exhibit at the fair.<\/p>\n
Their products include handicrafts, rattan-based and wood-
\nbased furniture, garments, toys and traditional cosmetics.<\/p>\n
\"Indonesian exhibitors will also present cultural shows,
\nincluding traditional music and beauty shows, every night on an
\nopen stage,\" the statement said.<\/p>\n
State Minister of Investment Sanyoto Sastrowardoyo is expected
\nto be present at the fair and lead a panel discussion on
\ninvestment in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
At Unitrex '96, from June 5 through June 8, Indonesia will be
\nrepresented by eight exporters of marble products, furniture,
\ntoys, garments, fishery products and handicrafts.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 10 exporters will take part in the International
\nHouseware Show from June 19 through June 21. Their participation
\nis sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization.<\/p>\n
The statement explained that the agency, which is affiliated
\nto the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will sponsor trade
\npromotions at 53 exhibitions in 25 countries this 1996\/1997
\nfiscal year.<\/p>\n
The largest exhibitions at which Indonesia will participate
\nare in Dubai and New York. The country will send some 100
