More than 50 Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens, also known\nas Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), distributed across Batam,\nRiau Islands, have temporarily closed and are currently non-operational\nas of Monday (8\/6).<\/p>\n

Defri Fernaldi, the MBG coordinator for the Batam region, stated that\nthe closure is due to the failure of operational budgets to be\ntransferred to the local SPPG units in Batam. \u201cRegarding the cessation\nof operations for several SPPGs, it has indeed begun today because the\noperational budget for the SPPGs has not yet been released,\u201d he\nconfirmed.<\/p>\n

Fernaldi noted that the SPPGs will resume operations once the funds\nfrom the State Budget (APBN) have been credited to the SPPGs\u2019 virtual\naccounts (VA). He emphasised that SPPGs are prohibited from operating\nwithout these funds and are also forbidden from using bridge financing\nfrom partners.<\/p>\n

Additional information suggests that a top-up for SPPGs that have not\nyet received funding is being processed today, Monday (8\/6), by the\nfinance team and the State Treasury Services Office (KPPN). Operations\nare expected to restart once the funds appear in the virtual\naccounts.<\/p>\n

    Previously, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S.\nDeyang, denied rumours that the distribution of MBG program funds was\nbeing hindered or halted. She stated that the disbursement of funds for\nprogram operations had commenced last Friday (5\/6) and continued early\nthis week, asserting that much of the information regarding funding\nobstacles was inaccurate.<\/p>\n

    \u201cSome of it is hoax. Everything has been disbursed since Friday,\u201d\nNanik said following her inauguration at the Merdeka Palace, Central\nJakarta, on Monday (8\/6).<\/p>\n

    These statements were made amidst reports that several SPPG units had\ntemporarily suspended operations, claiming they had not yet received\noperational funds from the central government.
