        "content": "<p>52 prosecutors dismissed<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: Fifty-two prosecutors have been<br>\ndismissed this month for misrepresenting cases that have gone to<br>\ntrial, Attorney General M.A. Rachman said.<\/p>\n<p>Rachman said that the dismissals were conducted in a bid to<br>\nwipe out prosecutors who were hindering the law enforcement<br>\neffort.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the dismissals were also aimed at improving its<br>\ntarnished image in the community where the prosecutor's office is<br>\nconsidered the center of trial fixing.<\/p>\n<p>\"In a bid to improve our negative image, we have to deal with<br>\ncorrupt prosecutors,\" Rachman said.<\/p>\n<p>Disclosing that all the dismissed prosecutors did not include<br>\nthose in North Sumatra, the attorney general said last week that<br>\nhe had not been informed about any corrupt prosecutors in that<br>\nprovince.<\/p>\n<p>Chairuman Harahap of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office<br>\nsaid there were reports of several prosecutors in North Sumatra<br>\nthat were classified as not clean.<\/p>\n<p>But they are under surveillance so it is unclear at which<br>\nlevel they are corrupt, Chairuman said. --JP<\/p>",
