5,000 Japanese tourists to visit RI<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Nagoya-based World Connection Corp. Ltd.
\nwill arrange the visits of some 5,000 Japanese tourists to Bali
\nand Yogyakarta between September and December this year in
\ncooperation with an Indonesian company.<\/p>\n
Under a contract agreement signed here yesterday by Satoru
\nTakeo, a director of World Connection, and the general manager of
\nthe Jakarta-based Satriavi Tours & Travel, Johny Sundah, Satriavi
\nhas become the firms exclusive handling agent in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Takeo said that the tourists, who are residents of Chubu, will
\noccupy 2,000 rooms a night during their vacation.<\/p>\n
Satriavi, established in 1974, is an affiliate of PT
\nAerowisata, a hotel company which along with Merpati Nusantara
\nAirlines is a main subsidiary of the country's flag carrier,
\nGaruda Indonesia. Affiliated hotels and airlines will be used by
\nthe Japanese tourists<\/p>\n
Sundah told The Jakarta Post that Indonesia is geographically
\ntoo large and culturally too rich for a four-day visit by typical
\nJapanese tourists.<\/p>\n
\"The four-day holiday in Japan makes it difficult for the
\ntourism industry here to offer several destinations and
\nattractions,\" Sundah said, adding that four days are only enough
\nto see an overexposed area like Bali or Yogyakarta.(09)<\/p>",
