PT Pertamina's 2026 Mudik Bareng (Group Homecoming) programme saw all 5,000 allocation spots filled within just six hours of registration opening, providing free transportation for workers and their families returning home for Eid al-Fitr. Participants such as Lina and Iwan reported significant financial relief, saving millions of rupiah in ticket costs that they could redirect towards holiday expenses and supporting their home communities.

The mudik (homecoming) season ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H has
arrived. Amidst the bustling departures, thousands of citizens have
begun gathering at various departure points to reunite with family in
their hometowns. One particularly lively gathering point was visible at
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in Jakarta on Sunday, 15 March
2026.

Lina, an employee earning standard minimum wage (UMR), was one of
5,000 fortunate participants in the Pertamina 2026 Mudik Bareng
programme. She and her husband and aunt prepared from 3:30 AM to await
the bus that would take them to Ngawi, East Java.

For Lina, this year’s journey felt particularly special thanks to her
success in winning the free ticket “competition” organised by PT
Pertamina (Persero). This was her second time participating in such a
programme.

“My husband was persistent in securing these tickets so we could
share with our parents and relatives in Ngawi,” Lina said whilst
enjoying entertainment at the departure area.

Lina noted that the programme had a significant financial impact on
her family. For a three-person round trip, she was able to save up to
Rp2,100,000. That figure was merely the ticket cost, not including meal
and drink expenses during the journey.

“That’s just the ticket cost, not including food and drink. But
joining Pertamina’s Mudik Bareng programme, everything is free.
Alhamdulillah,” she said gratefully.

The savings were now allocated towards preparing traditional
kampung-style opor ayam (chicken curry) and filling Eid ang pao (red
envelopes) for children in her hometown.

A similar story came from Iwan, a resident of Jalan Bangka in South
Jakarta. Unlike Lina, this year marked Iwan’s first time participating
in the free mudik programme.

For him, this opportunity was a lifeline amid challenging economic
conditions, particularly after his wife had experienced workforce
reduction the previous year.

“In times like these, we certainly need to economise considerably.
With the Pertamina 2026 Mudik Bareng programme, it is not only
economical but I am also not exhausted,” said Iwan, who had not returned
to Yogyakarta for three years.

Iwan hoped his journey to Yogyakarta would proceed smoothly so he
could quickly satisfy his longing for local cuisine.

“I hope the roads in Yogyakarta are not congested; we are very keen
to enjoy soto and sate klathak, we have long missed Yogyakarta cuisine
which we have rarely found in recent years,” he concluded.

Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) again held a group mudik.
The activity took place on Saturday, 7 March, attended by 335 students
and 33 accompanying staff.

A total of 500 participants in the Mudik Bareng programme organised
by the North Sumatra Provincial Government departed from Batam towards
Medan using the KM Kelud vessel on Friday, 28 March.

This free mudik facility is part of XL Axiata’s way of providing
#ShareKindnessAtEid.

The mudik sendoff was held at two locations: from Gedung Sate in
Bandung City and from Subang Regency on Friday, 5 April.

The Mudik Asik Together BUMN Pegadaian West Java was attended by 201
people using 6 buses. They travelled to three cities: Palembang,
Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

The quota of 5,000 participants was fulfilled in just six hours from
when registration opened on 3 March 2026.
",
