The\nhotspots are spread across 11 regencies and cities, with the highest\nconcentrations in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, Tapin Regency, and Banjar\nRegency.<\/p>\n<p>Weather forecaster at the Syamsudin Noor Meteorological Station,\nUtari Randiana, explained that the data was sourced from the Kalimantan\nHotspot Information System as of Tuesday at 07.00 WITA. Of the 13\nregions, only Banjarmasin City and Balangan Regency recorded no\nhotspots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf the total 473 hotspots, 425 are categorised as medium, 32 as\nhigh, and 16 as low. The medium category is the most dominant,\naccounting for approximately 89.9 percent,\u201d Utari said in Banjarbaru,\nSouth Kalimantan, on Tuesday (25\/8).<\/p>\n<p>BMKG mapped medium-category hotspots across 11 regions, including\nBanjar, Barito Kuala, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu\nSungai Utara, Kotabaru, Tabalong, Tanah Bumbu, Tanah Laut, Tapin, and\nBanjarbaru City.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, high-confidence hotspots were detected in seven areas:\nBanjar, Barito Kuala, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Tanah\nBumbu, Tapin, and Banjarbaru City.<\/p>\n<p>Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency recorded the highest number of hotspots\nat 118, followed by Tapin Regency with 102 and Banjar Regency with 99.\nThe remaining hotspots were scattered across Barito Kuala, Hulu Sungai\nTengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Banjarbaru City, Kotabaru, Tabalong, Tanah\nBumbu, and Tanah Laut.<\/p>\n<p>As the number of hotspots surged, BMKG issued a forest and land fire\ndanger warning system as of Tuesday (25\/8\/2026).
