        "content": "<p>40 convicts escape Aceh jail<\/p>\n<p>LHOKSEUMAWE, Aceh: At least 40 convicts escaped on Sunday from<br>\nthe Bireuen jail in North Aceh following a riot, Antara reported<br>\nMonday. \"We have not discovered precisely how the riot around<br>\nnoon happened,\" said an official, Marzuki.<\/p>\n<p>Located 60 kilometers from the regency's capital of<br>\nLhokseumawe, the jail houses 80 inmates.<\/p>\n<p>Marzuki said two political prisoners, identified as Tgk. Affan<br>\nand Tgk. Ismail, were among the escapees.<\/p>\n<p>Inmates said the 30-minute riot began when wardens were late<br>\nin opening gates for lunch. No casualties have been reported and<br>\nthe riots were not described further. The prison chief, Rachmad,<br>\nwas reportedly out of town. The convicts escaped after managing<br>\nto break through iron bars and doors.<\/p>\n<p>The news service said a number of family members of the<br>\nconvicts had reported to the prison about the escape. Some<br>\nescapees also reportedly turned themselves in to police posts.<\/p>",
