        "content": "<p>Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has confirmed that a 30 per cent\ntoll tariff discount will come into effect from nine days before Eid in\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>The policy is one of the government\u2019s efforts to reduce congestion\nduring the homecoming period as people return to their hometowns for the\nEid celebration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNine or eight days before Eid, if I recall correctly,\u201d Dody said\nwhen met in Semarang, Central Java, on Sunday (1 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll toll routes. Similar to last year, except last year it was 20\nper cent and now it is 30 per cent,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The government hopes the toll discount will encourage the public to\nundertake their homecoming journey earlier, so that traffic congestion\ndoes not accumulate during peak travel periods or the return\njourney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this approach, we hope travellers can head home earlier, and\nlikewise return earlier,\u201d Dody said.<\/p>\n<p>The toll tariff discount is part of the government\u2019s first-quarter\n2026 economic stimulus package announced previously. The total budget\nallocated reaches Rp12.83 trillion and covers various measures.<\/p>\n<p>This stimulus policy will apply throughout the February\u2013March 2026\nperiod, and is expected to have a significant impact on population\nmovement whilst maintaining purchasing power ahead of Eid.<\/p>",
