Jakarta, CNN Indonesia \u2013 Heavy rainfall caused a retaining wall to\ncollapse in a landslide that struck three houses in Puncak, Cisarua\nDistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java.<\/p>\n
The Bogor Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said the\nretaining wall collapse also caused drainage to overflow, flooding six\nsurrounding houses.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe overflow of drainage water caused the retaining wall to\ncollapse, striking several residential houses and causing flooding,\u201d\nsaid Bogor Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division Head Muhamad\nAdam Hamdani on Sunday (15\/2), as quoted by Detik News.<\/p>\n
He explained the landslide occurred due to prolonged heavy rainfall\nsince yesterday, Saturday (14\/2). According to Bogor Regency BPBD\nrecords, a total of 9 houses were affected, with 3 houses damaged by\nlandslide debris and 6 houses inundated by flash flooding.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were no fatalities or injuries. Material losses cannot yet be\nestimated. Twelve families have been displaced and are temporarily\nsheltering in rented houses near the site,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The BPBD team has been carrying out response operations at the site\nsince last night together with joint personnel. The cleanup of landslide\ndebris continues today.<\/p>\n
\u201cHouses affected by floodwater have already been cleaned by\nresidents.
