        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A total of 1,000 uninhabitable homes (RTLH) in\nthe Siau Tagulandang Biaro Islands Regency (Sitaro), North Sulawesi, an\nIndonesian-Filipino border area, are targeted for renovation this year\nfollowing the devastating floods that struck the region.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, known\nas Ara, along with Interior Minister Tito Karnavian and Central Bureau\nof Statistics (BPS) Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, directly\ninspected the disaster-affected settlements in Sitaro on Friday\n(10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Ara emphasised that the home renovation programme\nis part of the government\u2019s response to the housing conditions of\nresidents impacted by the disaster, as well as an effort to tackle the\nhigh poverty rates in the area.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the home renovation programme will soon commence,\ninvolving a large number of local workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStarting from Wednesday (15\/4\/2026), the home renovation process\nwill begin. The construction of these 1,000 housing units will involve\naround 3,000 artisans. In addition to providing decent housing for\nresidents, this programme will also create employment opportunities for\nthe local community,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Tito stated that the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance\n(BSPS) programme represents the tangible presence of the state in\nimproving the quality of life for the community, particularly in island\nand outermost regions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Prabowo not only pays attention to residents in big cities\nbut also in underdeveloped and outermost areas like Sitaro.
