        "content": "<p>250 aircraft to take part in Airshow &apos;96<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Some 250 aircraft of various types, from Africa,<br>\nAsia, Europe and America, will take part in the Indonesian<br>\nAirshow &apos;96, to be held at the Soekarno-Hatta International<br>\nAirport from June 22 through July 1, 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Suprihadi, of the Indonesian Airshow &apos;96 committee, said<br>\nyesterday in Melbourne that 600 companies from all over the world<br>\nwill take part in the show. And as of early this month, 300<br>\ncompanies have registered for the show.<\/p>\n<p>Suprihadi was in Melbourne to attend the Airshow Australia &apos;95<br>\nat Avalon, in which 400 companies took part.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the Indonesian Airshow &apos;96 will serve as an<br>\naerobatics festival, where participants will engage in aerobatics<br>\ndemonstrations. A number of noted teams, such as Blue Thunder of<br>\nthe United States and Red Arrows of Britain, will show their<br>\nmastery in aerobatics demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It is expected that an aerobatics team from the Indonesian<br>\nAir Force will also participate for the first time in the event,&quot;<br>\nSuprihadi said, reported Antara from Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>The first Indonesian Airshow was held in 1986 with 75 aircraft<br>\ntaking part in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Suprihadi said that the Bandung-based state-owned aircraft<br>\nmanufacturer PT IPTN will also display a range of its products,<br>\nincluding its newest commuter plane N-250, at the Indonesian<br>\nAirshow &apos;96.<\/p>\n<p>The United States, Suprihadi said, will exhibit for the first<br>\ntime its Boeing-777 aircraft, while Russia will show its Superjet<br>\nSU-27 and Europe will present a military version of Euro-Fighter-<br>\n200 aircraft, which is jointly made by Britain, Germany and<br>\nItaly.
