22-year-old man mistakenly killed<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 22-year-old man who was erroneously accused of
\nstealing a motorcycle was mobbed to death at Bumi Serpong Damai
\nhousing complex in Tangerang on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
The victim was identified as Yono, a construction worker in
\nthe complex.<\/p>\n
Rustadi said yesterday that his brother Yono, who was relaxing
\nwith two of his friends in his workplace, was asked by somebody
\nto help push his motorcycle.<\/p>\n
\"When Yono and his friends helped push the motorcycle,
\nhowever, another man shouted 'Thief!' and nearby people
\nimmediately chased after them,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Rustadi said Yono's friends and the man who asked for help
\nmanaged to escape the mob, but Yono was caught and attacked.<\/p>\n
\"Yono was bewildered at seeing people running toward him so he
\njust stood there,\" said Rustadi.<\/p>\n
Yono was severely injured and was immediately rushed to the
\nKramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, where he died.<\/p>\n
Yono's body was sent to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital
\nfor a postmortem examination.<\/p>\n
Rustadi said that Yono's body would be buried in their
\nhometown of Pemalang, Central Java. (ivy)<\/p>",
