The Minister of Hajj and Um\uff77\ufe0f Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, expressed\nhope that the working committees (Panja) for Hajj from both the\nIndonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the government will\nreach an agreement on the scale of Hajj costs within the next week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe DPR Hajj Working Committee and our Hajj Working Committee are in\ncontinuous discussion, calculating to ensure we establish the most\nappropriate figure. As of today, it is not yet 100% complete, remaining\nat around 85%,\u201d Irfan Yusuf stated in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
Commonly known as Gus Irfan, he noted that discussions regarding the\nHajj cost magnitude are ongoing within the working committee to achieve\na fair figure. He hopes these discussions will be finalised promptly so\nthat the agreed amount to be paid by pilgrims can be established in the\nnear future. \u201cGod willing, within the next week, we will have an\nagreement on the figure to be paid by pilgrims, which we will then\nsubmit to the President,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Certainty regarding Hajj costs will assist pilgrims on the current\nwaiting list in preparing their final payments. Additionally, the\nMinistry of Hajj and Umrah can prepare other technical aspects both\ndomestically and abroad.<\/p>\n
Previously, the government proposed an average Hajj Operational Cost\n(BPIH) for 2027 of Rp107,340,172.02 per person. This composition\nincludes a pilgrim-paid portion (Bipih) of Rp42,936,068.81 (40%) and a\nbenefit value (nilai manfaat) of Rp64,404,103.21 (60%).<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Gus Irfan reminded prospective pilgrims to prepare\nthemselves thoroughly before departing for the Holy Land, emphasising\nthat they should prepare not only their finances but also their physical\nand mental health. \u201cI ask pilgrims to first prepare physically and\nmentally, as well as financially,\u201d he said, noting that physical\nreadiness is crucial as the Hajj pilgrimage requires peak physical\ncondition.<\/p>\n
To address challenges such as rising service tariffs in Saudi Arabia\nand currency fluctuations, the government is refining efficiency\nformulas for the 2027 Hajj cost calculations. The proposal will undergo\nfurther discussion by Commission VIII following the establishment of the\n2026 Hajj Working Committee.<\/p>\n
The government projects a new BPIH scheme for 2027, targeting a 60%\nsubsidy from the BPKH benefit value to alleviate the direct financial\nburden on pilgrims. Despite expected increases in certain operational\ncomponents, the government ensures that the 2027 costs will not\noverburden pilgrims. To assist, the BPKH has proposed an instalment\nscheme for final payments so that pilgrims do not need to sell assets or\nincur debt when the payment period arrives.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH. Abd. Moqsith\nGhazali, noted that the physical and financial readiness of pilgrims\nmust be balanced to maintain health during the pilgrimage.
