Jakarta (ANTARA) - Holding a driving licence (SIM) appropriate to\none\u2019s vehicle type is an obligation for every driver in Indonesia.\nBeyond carrying the licence whilst driving, vehicle owners must also\nensure the document remains valid.<\/p>\n
For motorcyclists, the relevant licence is the SIM C. This document\nhas an expiry date and must be renewed before it lapses, so that the\nholder does not have to go through the process of obtaining a new\nlicence.<\/p>\n
In 2026, the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) fee for renewing a SIM C\nhas been set at Rp75,000. However, this is not the total expenditure an\napplicant must prepare for.<\/p>\n
The renewal process also involves a health examination, a\npsychological test, and an insurance fee. Once all these components are\ncounted, the total cost can reach around Rp260,000.<\/p>\n
Breakdown of 2026 SIM C renewal costs<\/p>\n
The following is the breakdown of costs to know before renewing a\nmotorbike licence in 2026.<\/p>\n
The issuance fee for a SIM C, SIM CI, and SIM CII is Rp75,000 each.\nThis is the PNBP payable during the licence renewal process.<\/p>\n
Applicants must also undergo a physical health examination, costing\nRp35,000. The examination includes checks on blood pressure, eyesight,\nand basic physical condition, all of which form part of the licence\nrenewal requirements.<\/p>\n
In addition to the health examination, applicants must fulfil the\npsychological test requirement. There are two options available.<\/p>\n
