        "content": "<p>20 years sought for terror suspect<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG: Prosecutors demanded on Thursday a 20-year jail term<br>\nfor each of four defendants standing trial for possession of<br>\nexplosives with which they had planned to launch terror attacks<br>\nacross the country.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors accused defendants Mahmudi Haryono, Joko<br>\nArdiyanto, Siswanto and Heri Suyatno with possession of 750<br>\nkilograms of explosives, thousands of rounds of ammunitions,<br>\nfirearms and hundreds of detonators. The huge arms cache was<br>\ndiscovered last July at their residence in Kalibanteng, western<br>\nSemarang.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants are being charged under Law No. 15\/2003 on<br>\nterrorism and the Criminal Code, which carry a maximum death<br>\nsentence.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The sentence demand is reasonable, as they took part in a<br>\ncrime that has caused widespread fear,&quot; prosecutor Gatot Gunarto<br>\ntold the court.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the hearing, defense lawyer Yasri Yudha Yahya<br>\nsaid the prosecution&apos;s demand lacked substantial evidence and was<br>\nemotional.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;When presented with the evidence, the defendants stated<br>\nclearly that they did not recognize them.
