        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Approximately 20,000 children who had previously dropped\nout of school have returned to education through the Sekolah Rakyat\nprogramme, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Affairs\nover the past year.<\/p>\n<p>This was discussed during a meeting between Cabinet Secretary Teddy\nIndra Wijaya and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf at the\nCabinet Secretariat office in Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March, at\napproximately 23:30 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>As posted on the Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s Instagram account on Friday,\nthe visit by the Minister of Social Affairs also served to report on the\nprogress of the Sekolah Rakyat programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPraise be to God, in this past year almost 20,000 school-dropout\nchildren have been able to return to school,\u201d the post stated.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond gaining access to education, the children also receive\nadequate housing facilities, food, nutritional support, and health\ninsurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>The People\u2019s School programme is being implemented as part of the\ngovernment\u2019s effort to ensure that school-age children can obtain access\nto education.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto has given attention to the issue of\nchildren unable to attend school.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of State is working to ensure that no more children who\nshould be in school are denied the opportunity for education, and is\npushing to ensure that children do not live and seek livelihoods on the\nstreets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Prabowo does not want any more children who should be\nattending school to be unable to do so, nor does he want children to\nhave to live, seek food, and stay on the streets,\u201d the post stated.<\/p>\n<p>The People\u2019s School programme is planned to be expanded annually with\nthe hope of having a broader impact on Indonesia\u2019s young generation.<\/p>\n<p>The Sekolah Rakyat programme is a flagship education initiative from\nPresident Prabowo, designed as a free boarding school to break the cycle\nof poverty through quality education.<\/p>\n<p>This programme specifically targets children from low-income\nfamilies, street children, and vulnerable groups throughout\nIndonesia.<\/p>",
