        "content": "<p>19 Acehnese fishermen held in India<\/p>\n<p>BANDA ACEH, Aceh: At least 19 Acehnese fishermen are being<br>\ndetained by immigration authorities in the Andaman and Nicobar<br>\nislands -- administered by India, but physically closer to Aceh<br>\n-- for trespassing.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have yet to receive an official notification on the fate<br>\nof the Acehnese fishermen,\" secretary of Aceh's customs and legal<br>\noffice, M. Adli Abdullah, said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said that not all of them had meant to trespass into Indian<br>\nwaters, but some of them unintentionally did so after their boats<br>\nsuffered engine trouble and drifted.<\/p>\n<p>\"If this is true, we ask the government to help secure their<br>\nrelease as was done by the Indonesian embassy in Yangon,\" he said<br>\nreferring to a previous incident with Myanmar.<\/p>\n<p>The embassy recently managed to help free 19 wayward<br>\nIndonesian fishermen, who had been jailed by Myanmar for seven to<br>\neight months. --Antara<\/p>",
